A collection of 5 things from the week that I found interesting, am enjoying, or am working on.

Book that I’m reading

The Effective Executive by Peter Drucker.

This book is nearly 40 years old, but is still super relevant, and the principles within apply to any career, regardless of whether or not you have an “executive” title.

The /now page movement

Back in 2015, Gregory Brown started a movement, and added his “now page” to Derek Sivers’ blog.

Thousands of people have joined him since then. This week, I added my own and you should too. Here’s how: https://nownownow.com/about

Great career advice on Twitter

Gabriel Valdivia posted a thread with tips on navigating your career when starting out as a designer which has also applied to my career as a software developer.

Favorite quote: “Find your North Star — explore everything you’re interested in, then double down on the few things that you’re good at and enjoy doing (that combination is key).”

From 2012 to the end of 2014, I worked remotely in a small team, and had a flexible schedule, and it was awesome.
